Item Description
Pair of photo illustrated cardboard boxes contain hand-painted cold-cast porcelain maquettes of Superman and Lois Lane as they appeared in the classic 1940s "Superman" cartoons by Fleischer Studios. Superman stands 9.5" tall on base w/"Superman - Fleischer Studios' Style - 1941" text. Underside of base has "Superman" name and hand-lettered edition number - "1,658/2,500." Comes w/COA noting edition number of 1,658/2,500. Lois stands 9" tall on base w/"Lois Lane - Fleischer Studios' Style - 1941" text. Underside of base has "Superman" name, her name and hand-lettered edition number - "377/1,000." Comes w/matching COA which shows some wear. ©2004 DC Comics. Both were produced by DC's DC Direct line and retailed at $89.95 each. Boxes have lt. wear and are VF/Exc. while maquettes are NM. As a bonus, comes w/8" tall Superman statue showing him in style similar to that of the Fleischer cartoons. He stands on base w/"S" symbol and underside is marked "©1999 DC Comics - Made In China."
