Item Description
Original illustrated cardboard box contains 4.25x5.5" long tin litho toy w/built-in key. Marx, c. 1938. Front/back panels of box feature scene of Ferdinand w/pair of head-butting calves while two other panels feature close-up Ferdinand portrait. One main panel has .25" wide by 1.25" long strip of surface paper off center including bit off Ferdinand's face. End flaps have tanned w/age and show scattered moisture spots/creases. One corner has a 1" tear to end flap w/neat glue repair and small piece of tape on back. Other scattered lt. creases/wear, but still complete w/all flaps and nice for display. VG. Toy has original fabric flower attachment in mouth and separate die-cut tin litho bee on back. Horns are nicely crafted black leather replacements. Toy works and when wound, rapidly spins its wire tail as it shakes about. Scattered pinpoint paint marks, .25" hairline scratch on one leg but still a very bright and glossy example that works well. VF/Exc.
