Item Description
Each is 8x8” open with a center fold for mailing and with a sealing sticker on two reverse edges. The first has address of a hotel in Tacoma, WA, five have address of savings and loan branch in Baltimore, MD and the one for Don Church has no address (or sticker). Lot begins with 1970 mailer for Mark William Rudd, the most famous of the group. Paper has two staple tears at top corners and two small pieces off lower corners. The other six in the lot are Exc.. Rudd was an SDS leader at Columbia University and served as spokesman for dissident students. He was a founder of the more militant SDS spin-off known collectively as “Weathermen” after the lyrics from a famous Bob Dylan song. Second (1970) is for Weathermen member Silas Bissell who planted a bomb at Univ. of Washington ROTC Building. Third (1972) is for Mary Kathleen Brooks wanted for bombing at Berkeley and fourth (1977) is for Brook’s boyfriend and partner in Berkeley bombing Don Louis Church. Fifth (1978) is for James Kilgore, member of Symbionese Liberation Army and the last member to be captured in 2002 in South Africa. Sixth and seventh are for Weathermen activists Wendy Jane Panken and Caroline Margaret Tanner.
