Item Description
Omni-Graphics Inc. c. 1960s. 4.75x10.75x6.75" tall metal lunchbox shaped like classic first generation of the Volkswagen Type 2 van w/split windshield, informally called the Microbus, Splitscreen, or Splittie among modern fans. Produced from 1950 through the end of the 1967 model year. Scattered lt. general wear w/a few paint nicks/scratches at edges (w/some oxidation to bare metal at a few spots) but box remains bright, glossy and VF/Exc. Comes w/5.25" tall molded thin plastic thermos w/plastic cup w/raised "VW" design. Inside of both pieces are styrofoam inserts and lower half also contains original plastic bottle w/tin cap. Thermos strap intact. NM. Imaginative design. Scarce, especially in this condition. Gary Keller Collection.
