Item Description
4x6" campaign biography titled "The People's Candidate For The Presidency With A History Of The Wars With The British And Indians On Our North-Western Frontier". Cover features gilt embossed portrait of Harrison inscribed "General Harrison". Title page is dated 1840 and printed by "W. Marshall & Co." in Philadelphia. Pages have light brown toning and minor loss of gilt application on cover. Near Fine. Also included are two newspaper clippings. One is from "The Ohio News" in the form of a ballot with a printed letter from Henry Clay to the voters. The second is a post 1840 election return from Pennsylvania featuring a wood cut of two roosters one pinned to the ground as the other says "Tippecanoe, Oo, Oo". Additional text reads "N.C. Nuf Ced!!" and a poem about Harrison's defeat of "Little Van". Both clippings have minor handling wear. Fine. Don & Mildred Wright Collection.
