Item Description
2.5" dia. by 2.5" tall round brass case clock w/solid glass domes on front/back, making for near spherical display. Rear glass dome has flat surface for display purposes as made and to allow for viewing of inner clock mechanism. Clockworks were made in Switzerland by Doxa, 1920s. Hand-painted face shows scene w/early 1900s hot air balloon and early airship. Top hat-wearing man in hot air balloon holds American flag and this piece is animated, moving as seconds tick. Works. Brass case has some lt. aging/wear but o/w clock is Exc. Wonderful design.
