Item Description
19x25". Produced by "M.B. Brown Printing & Binding Co., N.Y." with New York union bug at bottom center. Large five pointed star features six portraits including; Royal S. Copeland (U.S. Senator); Albert Conway (Attorney General); Leonard C. Crouch (Judge Court of Appeals); Morris S. Tremaine (Comptroller); Herbert H. Lehman (Lieut. Governor) and Franklin D. Roosevelt (Governor). Additional text reads "Democratic Nominations Vote Every Star Keep Good Government". There is faint staining to the top 16" of width extending 5.5" down and affecting the very top of Copeland's image but blending evenly except on the outermost edge. Additional stains; 2" area in background between Lehman and Copeland, 1" round between Tremaine and Crouch and 1.75x.75" at bottom just right of center. All blend evenly and affect the overall presence only minimally. An expert paper restorer could remove these stains with minimal effort and cost. Of the few examples of this poster known to us all display similar stains. An important and rare New York and FDR campaign poster.
