Item Description
13 buttons 7/8” to 2.5”. Group begins with Illinois related button for the “Elmer Layden Safety Club.” At the University Of Notre Dame he was one of the legendary “Four Horsemen.” He also served as commissioner of the NFL from 1941 to 1946. Other buttons in the group specifically reference the Bears and included is a portrait button of William ‘Refrigerator’ Perry as well as one showing a symbolic refrigerator bearing his number “72”. Items are largely 1940s-1950s with a couple of more recent exceptions. The one button showing a single bear has faded orange color but otherwise all items are extremely clean and Exc. to Mint.
