Item Description
1.75” with .5” long piece of paper off the bottom edge of the back paper by W&H which also has little age. Rex was founded in New Orleans in 1872 giving the city not only a monarch but also a parade. Rex’s founders chose the slogan that appears on this button “Pro Bono Publico” which embodies the commitment to service “For The Public Good”. Button also includes the phrase “Long Live The King.” The Rex motto is displayed on this button. Celluloid is NM. Rare and only example seen. Earliest Mardi Gras button we know of.
