Item Description
While most are familiar w/the bobbing head figures of the 1950s and 1960s, all were typically 5" to 8" tall. In the 1960s, a series of over-sized promotional NFL football player bobbing heads were produced for several teams, all of which are now rare and among the most sought after of all bobbing heads. That being said, we are offering one of these very rare 13.5" tall painted composition bobbing head display models used by retailer's to promote sales of the smaller bobbing head figures. c. 1960-1961. Underside of feet has small "Japan" foil sticker and right side of foot has "NFL" shield foil sticker. Rarely found w/this sticker intact. "Colts" name on front of jersey and horseshoe logos on sides of helmet are decals and show even aging. Head is mounted on spring just like the smaller versions and back of head has had 5/8x2" area of repair/restoration. 1.5" surface hairline to back of neck and rim edge of head has 1" hairline crack left of chinstrap. .5" hairline to rim edge at center of chinstrap. All else is original and aside from scattered aging, bobbing head is Fine. Sure to stand out as the centerpiece of any collection of vintage bobbing heads and a must for Colts fans.
