Item Description
11.25x15.5x5-5/8" deep generic cardboard shipping carton unfolds to form impressive 15.5x17x5-5/8" deep illustrated store display box for 10 (originally contained a dozen) 11" long hard plastic "Bat Scope" periscope toys that fully extend to 21". Park Plastics, ©1966 NPP Inc. These toys were both issued as premiums by Kellogg's and offered for sale in store, as noted by display offered here. Display opens to reveal header w/"Batman" comic book logo w/"Batman Scope" text and features fold-under flap at bottom front w/great image of Batman watching as Robin uses Bat Scope to view images of The Joker, The Penguin and The Riddler. Area above Robin has three tears, measuring 1", 1-3/8" and 3" (one w/paper tape repair to shipping box/exterior side) and all radiate from around perforated tab, which has been punched. Header has large horizontal crease and fold-down side flap w/"Batman" name inside batsymbols show some wear. Overall, display is Fine. Toys have raised "Bat Scope" text and batsymbol on front/back of body and has belt clip on one side and glass mirror inserts. One Scope is missing middle piece and another has broken clip. Rest are Exc. Fantastic display. Very rare and the first we've offered in our 48 years. Gary Keller Collection.
