Item Description
2.25x3.5" from 1949 set issued by Comic Stars Inc. that featured a wide variety of comic characters. There were two different cards featuring Superman (as well as on for "Robin Batman's Partner" and these are ©NCP Inc. We have seen these cards issued both in cello packs and cardboard sleeves. Card backs are blank, so what makes this card of interest is that it is the only example we have ever seen w/an imprint. Reverse has ink stamp reading "Start Collecting Comic Trading Cards Today/Get Your Complete Series Of Comic Characters At Your Neighborhood Kroger Store." Lt. aging, faint crease across bottom, penciled number on back. VG/EX. A rare variant for the non-sport completist.
