Item Description
1.25x3.5x6.5" cardboard box missing one inside tab. Image of gune and Gene on both sides. Made by Canton Hardware. Two 1" splits on end flaps. Box holds original shape. Box Fine. 6" short barrel, nickel finished cast iron gun with signature orange grips. Inside cap chamber is cast the word "Dummy." About 1941 many states banned fireworks and caps. Toy manufacturers complied and produced dummy guns, similar to normal guns except they were incapable of firing caps. These varieties were manufactured in lesser quantities and are rarer and more valuable. Gun N. Mint. Also included is original 3.5x5.5" insert photo in 'exhibit card' style. Rare and only time we've seen this included. Card is Exc. c. 1940s. From the Hake Collection.
