Item Description
29" tall. Composition head, hands and shoes with cleats. Stuffed cloth body with original "77" on his blue jersey. This was his college number and colors when he played for the University of Illinois in the 1920s. Original cloth helmet. Scattered crazing on back of head, hands and shoes. Noticeable under close inspection. Facial features remain clean, bright with no noticeable crazing. Grange was the Michael Jordan of his day in terms of endorsements. There were Red Grange dolls, sweaters, candy bars, shoes and even Red Grange meatloaf. He is credited for making the National Football League a profitable endeavor. Very well made. c. 1920s. Exc.
