Item Description
This rare set is No. 5001T and was sold only in 1950. This example is unused old store stock. Box is 16x17x3.5" deep. Box has moderate scattered wear/aging with one corner split. Fine. The metal engine is "300 AC" and the metal coal car is marked "Reading Lines." The three freight cars and caboose are hard plastic numbered consecutively 638-41. Has a separate box of track and notes 12 sections, however contains only 7. Otherwise set is complete including all small pieces still sealed in their envelopes, all cardboard inserts and packing material remains. Has detailed instruction booklet as well as 10x14" one-sided instruction sheet for assembly of the "American Flyer Farm." The instruction sheet has scattered light creases but remains clean. The box insert features full color cut-outs to assemble a barn, farm house, stable, tractor, tractor accessory carrier, chicken house, garage and farm wagon. These inserts have some light wear/aging as packaged. Set contents remain essentially Mint as issued. Exceptional set.
