Item Description
9.5" tall tin litho toy with built-in key. This toy was produced by Unique Art/Strauss c. early 1920s. Box lid has obvious wear/aging with some missing pieces on side panels and has been reinforced with cardboard on interior. Box lid still remains displayable and 90% complete, box bottom is original. Box Fair. Comes with small Strauss catalogue booklet which has obvious cover wear, Good. Base of the toy is very nicely illustrated with images of circus performers and animals. Toy works and clown which is attached by a metal rod to the base moves up and down as if dancing. Toy has scattered paint nicks and scratches including a number of hairline scratches on the front of the base around the on/off switch and a 3" scratch on the top. However, appearance remains bright and glossy with vibrant color. Overall Fine.
