Item Description
Gorilla is 9.5" tall with attached specially designed tin litho remote control unit. King Kong inspired toy from the 1950s by Nomura, Japan. Nicely illustrated box includes scene on one side panel of huge gorilla rampaging through a city. Lid has moderate scattered wear including .5x2" streak of surface paper missing from left side panel, bottom side panel has 1x2" missing corner piece and large clear tape repair. Box remains clean and colorful for display. Overall VG. Gorilla has plush-covered body with tin litho face and feet, celluloid hands. Remote control unit is decorated with jungle trees and plant life, lid has embossed image of the gorilla. Toy works and as described on the box, "It Walks! It Roars! Swinging Its Arms And Opens And Closes Its Lighted Mouth." Underside of remote control has some paint scratches and trace of wear to the tabs. However, toy o/w shows only slightest traces of wear, Exc. Great design and action.
