Item Description
4x5.25x4" tall prize fighting ring and base with built-in key. Pair of boxing figures attached to metal shaft complete this toy. Boxers are wooden figures with painted metal arms and legs. Heavy wear to box which has been restored on the inside using brown paper tape. Box has tears, punctures, creases. Few stains on top lid. Good. Interesting illustrations on the sides of box including fighter training in gym with manager, fans peeking in window and prize fighter being carried on shoulders of fans. Toy base has great lithography including prize fighter with corner attendants, fans in bkg. and brass band on front. Back side includes boxers shaking hands right before fight with referee. Two side panels have humorous illustration of two cave men and dinosaur. This toy is totally different from the one we offered in #187. A later, more complex version. Also has four removable corner posts with original ropes. Fighters have very little wear. Base of toy has wear around on/off switch. Other side has .25x1.5" missing paint at bottom of illustration of ring. Does not affect image to any great extent. Underside of base has slight traces of oxidation. Noticeable paint wear. Toy works and figures move about as separate arms and legs move as if boxing. Technically VG but appearance is still Fine.
