Item Description
6.5" tall. c. late 1930s marked on underside "Wadeheath England By Permission Walt Disney." This mischievous fish-snatching, music-making baby seal featured opposite Donald Duck in the 1936 cartoon "Mickey's Circus." Donald's efforts to train him ended in one disaster after another. Unnamed at the time, the seal seems to have inspired Salty, Pluto's recurring seal foe in later 1940s cartoons. This rare figurine is the only item we've seen for this relatively obscure Disney character. Exc.
