Item Description
Premium lot from 1939 issued by various bread companies, this has imprint of "Spengler's Bread." Guide is 5x8.5" with 16 pages. Designed to hold 60 different "performers" which were to be cut out and mounted at appropriate spots. Inside back cover has detailed text on other items from this promotion. Inside front cover notes that in addition to the set of "performers" to be used with the circus set, you were to obtain an additional set just for this book. Book lightly aged but remains unused. VF. Comes with 28 performer picture cards, each 2x3.75", seven have been partially or totally cut as originally intended, others are unused. Reverses have recipes. Three main characters are included: Pinocchio, Figaro and Donkey Boy, others are characters of lesser prominence such as dolls from different countries, clown, animals, etc. Scattered trace of wear/aging. Largely Fine/VF. Final item is the original mailing envelope with illustration of Pinocchio as ringmaster. Trace of aging/margin wear with 1.5" corner tear. Fine.
