Item Description
Box contains 13.5" tall fabric-bodied puppet with composition head. c. 1940s American Merchandise Distributors. Puppet has 1.25" dia. tin litho button showing bw photo image of Durante holding example of Umbriago puppet. "My Friend Umbriago" text appears at top along with facsimile Jimmy Durante signature. Umbriago was a character on the Jimmy Durante radio show in the 1940s. Button has a few light rim nicks. Exc. Puppet head has just the faintest trace of wear and is NM. Body has "Umbriago" silk-screened name. Silk-screening has some wear and body is slightly aged. Exc. Box has obvious wear with creasing, tears and left-hand side panel loose. Good/VG.
