Item Description
2-1/16" choice color two-sided celluloid w/slot at top holding somewhat worn but intact original rwb ribbon. Has small stickpin. Item is from 1900 and left side of illustration shows initiate at "Albany Before Taking" fraternal oath. Man is depicted in white socks, ankle-length white gown and wearing a mask while he holds a rope and his hair stands on end. On right side the caption is "Washington After Taking" and here he is posed in a tuxedo-like suit wearing a red fez. Reverse of piece has colorful crossed flags against a white bkg. One is an American flag and the other is a red flag w/white crescent moon and star plus black text "Cypress Temple Albany, N.Y." Hake collection stained example exceeded $200 two years ago.
