Item Description
6.5” dia. by 1.5” deep with high rim c. early 1900s. Shows 11 Brownie soldiers with light gray images of three tents on upper bkg. Two Brownies surround the maker logo on underside with company name “Grimwades Stoke-On-Trent” and text “Brownies, Are Imaginary Little Spirits Who Delight In Harmless Pranks And Helpful Deeds. They Work And Sport While Weary Households Sleep, And Never Are Seen By Mortal Eyes.!” Top rim edge has some worn color, mostly off inner edge green accent line and right leg and arm of Brownie at left. Center scene lightly worn, but only small 1/16” and .25” spots with color gone. Top inner rim edge at right has narrow .75” old repair of a chip. Overall Fine and only example we’ve seen depicting these important, historic characters.
