Set of 32 stiff paper cards, each 8x10” held in 8x10x.5” thin cardboard portfolio box with address label. Postmarked December 10, 1939. Inner portfolio sleeve with text “Merry Christmas From J.V. Connolly And His Associates Of King Features Syndicate Inc.” Light wear to mailing portfolio. Light surface dust to inner portfolio. Each card has wonderful specialty art done for this promotional item which was mainly sent to newspaper editors. Characters include: Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Prince Valiant, Dale Arden from Flash Gordon, Lone Ranger on Silver, Mandrake, The Phantom, Jiggs, Maggie, Tim Tyler, Polly and her Pals, Popeye with The Jeep, Krazy Kat and Friends, Secret Agent X-9, Barney Google, Snuffy Smith, Tippy, Pussycat Princess, Indians in Snow by Annie Rooney artist Darryl McClure, Blondie and Dagwood, Tillie, The Little King, Katzenjammer Kids, Just Kids, Henry, Toots and Casper, Myrtle and others. Cards are NM. One of the nicest KFS promo items ever produced.
