10" tall. c. 1930s. Cloth stuffed doll with 1.5x2" tag around neck reading "Pop-Eye The Sailor/In Paramount Pictures, Copyright By King Features Syndicate Inc./Made In Japan." Wooden pipe. Molded paper shoes. Stuffed body with wire legs. Fabric on hat, shirt, pants age soiled. Tattoos on arms. Plastic buttons. Pants ride low on hips exposing fabric underneath. Possibly as made. Applied pressed fabric ears. Wonderful detail and expression on formed face. Stands upright, but leans. Overall VF. Rare. From the Gary Selmonsky Collection.
