Item Description
Lot of five, each comes on 4x4" velvet-covered base. Each has stuffed body over wire aperture w/composition heads, hands, feet. Included are Roosevelt, Chamberlain, Ghandi, Hitler, Mussolini. Roosevelt stands 12.5" tall. Detailed clothing w/five tiny mother-of-pearl buttons on vest. Detailed face and hair. Chamberlain stands 12.5" tall, is nicely dressed w/similar buttons on vest and carries a wood/wire umbrella. Ghandi stands 10" tall and has painted stuffed body covered w/cloth garments. Hitler stands 11" tall w/detailed uniform, boots, hat, armband, belt. Metal belt buckle, Maltese cross and brass eagle accents. Bottom of base reads "Saroff Studios/5616 Clemens Ave. St. Louis, Missouri." Mussolini stands 12.5" tall w/detailed uniform, stitched pockets, black boots, metal belt buckle. c. late 1930s. Comes w/9.5x12" display card that is cracked and reinforced w/tape on the back. Good attention to facial detail on all. Ghandi is shown w/two teeth. Hitler and Mussolini salute. Obviously limited production. VF.
