Item Description
9x13.5x3" deep paper-covered cardboard box contains complete nine-piece set (two pieces w/separate lids) made in Bavaria, 1930s. Box comes w/original die-cut insert, packing straw and brittle tissue paper. Box lid is three side panels and box has one corner split. Good/VG. Set consists of 5.75" tall teapot w/figural lid and images of Mickey Mouse and Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar opposite, 3.25" tall creamer two different Mickey images, 3" tall sugar bowl w/figural lid and two different images of Minnie Mouse, two 5" dia. plates (one w/large "Mickey Mouse" central image and the other w/large "Minnie Mouse" central image), two 4" dia. saucers w/similar smaller images of Minnie and Horace and two 2" tall by 2" dia. cups w/Horace and Minnie images. Each piece (w/exception of creamer) bears Mickey image w/Mickey and Walter E. Disney name and "Made In Bavaria" text on undersides. Images show some scattered wear as applied, but set is o/w Exc. We have seen many styles of Japanese tea sets, but this is first we've seen of this German set in our 49 years. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
