Item Description
9-7/8x10-5/8" glossy stiff paper brown covers, although nearly entire front cover is an applied paper label (which has some neat coloring) featuring Mickey Mouse playing banjo-like one-stringed instrument atop table. From 1932 w/early copyright text. Issued in Great Britain w/eight blank paper sheets. Complete w/eight issued 8.5x8.5" fabric hankies, each in different color w/graphics featuring early Disney images. Each have faint black text along lower margin reading "Mickey Mouse (Copyright)." Although o/w unmarked, hankies were made by Sefton's Ltd. of Belfast, Ireland as shown in English campaign book from 1932. Hankies show Mickey w/toothy grin, playing piano, looking at flying insect, carrying broom, playing banjo (same image as on cover), singing while sweeping w/broom, bowing and laughing. Hankies exhibit lt. aging, but these appear unused and are VF overall. Book shows wear from handling w/pinch creases to spine and slight front cover warp. Cover label has .25" corner tip off bottom right. VG/Fine. Scarce book in general and rare w/this many hankies. Doug & Pat Wengel Collection.
