Item Description
8.5x14" mimeograph paper advertising a rally "Nov 12" 1969 at "Bobby Hutton Memorial Park" in Oakland. Center features speaker list at right including; Charles Garry, Angela Davis, Fred Hampton and more. At left is a cartoon by Emory Douglas of a courtroom scene with a rat in judge's robes labeled "Hoffman" saying "1969 Slave Act.. U.S. Government Vs Bobby Seale 'Niggers Have No Rights The White Man Is Bound To Respect'" as he points to Seale whose mouth is taped shut and who is guarded by a pair of pigs one with a rifle and the other a spiked club. This was perhaps a large flier but more likely designed to be pasted to a telephone pole or pinned to a board to advertise the event. Additional text at top refers to an announcement of action to free Newton and Seale "In Exchange For American Prisoner Of War In Vietnam". Some very faint toning to the top half and left sides and a single tiny pin hole at top center. Extremely Fine. Rare.
