Item Description
4-5/8x6.5" card is March of Dimes premium offered in 1944. Card features nice full body image of Superman. Facsimile signature/inscription reads "Sincerely, Superman." This is variety w/blank postcard back w/lines provided for address left unused. Back bears postal mark, but postcard appears o/w unused. This card is typically seen w/promotional text thanking recipient for contribution to March Of Dimes in their fight against Infantile Paralysis. This is first we've seen of this blank variety. Superman image on front has been nicely outlined in pencil by original recipient, but this blends for the most part. Card has scattered handling wear resulting in faint 4.75" diagonal crease at upper left. Colors remain bold and bright. VG/Fine. March of Dimes - Infantile Paralysis cards were also issued for Batman and Wonder Woman and we have offered a few of these cards over the last few years and all are rare. Franco Toscanini Collection.
