Item Description
Original cardboard box w/illustrated lid contain tin litho carousel w/built-in key. Base dia. of 5.5" w/total height of 6". Complete w/set of four 2.5" to 3.5" tall celluloid figures attached to wire frames which rest on hooks on inside edge of carousel top. Line Mar, 1950s. Box features different character image on each side including Mickey Mouse and Goofy swinging, Donald Duck holding this toy and Pluto shown watching toy. Top of lid moderate scattered tan age spotting and box has some edge creases. One lower corner has 1x1" piece missing. VG. Toy's celluloid figures are of Mickey, Donald, Goofy and Pluto. These characters have portraits on top/bottom side edges while the center unit of the toy depicts Donald's nephews and has attached bell. Outer edge of top has four accent strands w/metal balls attached. Toy works and the top swings as the attached figures rotate and the bell rings. Mickey figure has had one ear professionally replaced w/thin painted metal, but a close match and only noticeable upon close inspection. Donald has 3/8" dent to his rear end. One of the carousel top's tabs that figure's wire frames hook onto has broken off (but is included) so Goofy piece has been attached w/wire wrap. Figures are Fine/VF. Tin carousel has only scattered tiny paint marks and is Exc. overall. One of the nicest 1950s Disney wind-up toys and rare w/box.
