Item Description
First is 5x10" thin stiff cardboard photo with facsimile inscription "With Best Wishes 'Red Grange'." Reverse has pencil note "Presented To Me On Feb. 1, 1937 E.M.S." 1" square tape mark stain on the back that doesn't show on the front. Upper left corner has diagonal 1" crease. Some slight scuff marks on the background to the right of his head. Overall very clean. The buttons range from 1.25" up to a pair of 6" buttons, one reading "PAGEing MR. CSONKA." Cardboard back has inked original owners name. Text refers to Minnesota Vikings player Alan Page and the button pictures him. The text also references Larry Csonka, the fullback for the Miami Dolphins and button relates to the 1973 Super Bowl VIII. Button has many light surface scratches apparent in reflected light but viewed straight on hardly any at all show and the button retains gloss. The other 6" button pictures the "1973 World Champs Miami Dolphins." Tiny cello dot off the rim at 7 o'clock. Other interesting pieces include two for the L.A. Rams with one being a "Charter" member card with 1958 date. One of the more modern buttons shows Peyton Manning preparing to pass a box of Ritz crackers rather than a football. In fourth row players Mel Renfro and Terry Baker are pictured on button promoting an early 1960s stadium in Oregon. In the same row is 1976 button showing Jack Lambert and next to this is real photo color button related to 1979 Super Bowl XIII. Pictured are Franco Harris, Lynn Swann, and Terry Bradshaw. In the bottom row Phil Simms is pictured on circa 1987 button with advertising for the financial firm Drexel Burnham. Next to that is text button naming Ron Jaworski. This has scattered obvious small stain marks. In the third photo are a pair of San Diego Chargers buttons with second one having a fan name lightly inked on the background below the word "Charge!" Other interesting pieces read "Theismann For Heisman" and a cartoon button with a knife deflating a football names the "Oakland Traiters." Final seven buttons relate to the Pro Football hall of fame and these date from the 90s up to the most recent dated 2004. Majority of the items are NM displaying Mint with exceptions noted. Many rarities from the Paul Muchinsky Collection.
