Item Description
Each 1.25" issued to promote newspaper comic strips. These all have back papers naming either the newspaper or a local "WIP" radio station. Those without papers are row 1 #1, row 2 #3, row 3 #1, row 3 #4. The group leads off with the rarest button of the 14. Unfortunately this does show some stain but it retains full gloss. The next five rarest and most popular buttons in the set are Felix, Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Popeye, and Wimpy. All of these are essentially Mint examples. The Smitty button has tiny ¼" scratch in reflected light and slightest dent on right side. The Snuffy Smith button has a little grey tone in his cartoon balloon and a few barely seen marks on the green background. Final button for "Babe Bunting" was once pink in color but that has faded to cream. These remaining five consisting of Harold Teen, Harry Thatcher, Dan Dunn, Relentless Rudolph, and Connie are NM to Mint with high gloss. Some of the most beautiful comic character buttons ever produced. They make a most impressive full set.
