Item Description
Sizes are 7/8" to 1.5". These are all c. 1910 or earlier. All of the sepia buttons except row 2 #1 are real photo buttons without dot patterns. Group begins with 1904 button for theatrical touring company in the Midwest. Text reads "Jed Carlton Presents Emma Jean Carlton In 'Was She To Blame?'" Next pictures stock company actress "Ruby Erwood." Next pictures "Theo The Balloon Girl." This has fixed horizontal bar pin which snapped off and it is now replaced with a standard spring pin. Next pictures "The Platinac Girl." This is followed by same design in two sizes showing "The Girl With The Auburn Hair." We assume these three are advertising but we do not know what type of product. Bottom row begins with crisp real photo of Chiquita, The Cuban Atom who appeared at 1901 Pan-American Exposition. Last are three nicely colored buttons, perhaps showing actresses but they are unidentified. These have a Bastian back paper. All the buttons have their papers if that is how they were issued. There is a little touch of stain on the shoulder of Theo and last of the actress buttons has slight tone on upper edge. Others are all NM displaying Mint. Many rarities.
