Item Description
Whitman #748, ©1933 Harold Gray. Story and art by "Little Orphan Annie" creator Harold Gray. Reprints daily strip, May 29 to Sept. 25, 1933. BLB features alternating text pages and single panel pictures. There were two printings for this title, both of which are offered here. First printing features ad for eight additional BLB titles at end. Pages are evenly aged to cream in color but BLB has never been fully opened. Edges of cover has some scattered rubs but still a VF example. Second printing has ad at end mentioning additional 13 titles and this example is a premium issue w/Ovaltine/Wander Company inkstamp inside front cover. More moderate corner tip wear to cover w/some edge rubs. Pages have aged to cream in color. Fine overall. Rare and first we've offered of such an example. Rogers M. Fred, Jr. BLB & Related Collection.
