Item Description
1.25x1.5" gold metal case watch. Dial features caricature image of W.C. Fields w/"'Any Man Who Hates Dogs And Children Can't Be All Bad'" quote along w/his name. Dial features Jay Ward Productions copyright. c. 1971. This rare variety features hand-painted dial. Only a few watches in the series were done this way (as noted on page 84 of Comic Character Time Pieces book by Hy Brown), this version's image is unique to this painted model whereas the standard Fields watch featured a totally different image. Replaced leather band. Case has scattered lt. wear to the gold luster. VF overall. Dial is Exc. Running. One of the rarest and most sought after of all Ward watches and first we've offered.
