Item Description
Large 48x48" high gloss paper poster features pop artist Haring's characteristic illustrations, showing large black figure w/rope around its neck stepping on much smaller white figure w/red X on its chest. "Free South Africa" text at bottom references the then ongoing struggle against apartheid in South Africa in 1985. Poster has been rolled and has scattered handling creases w/1" margin tear at lower left and heavy 9.5" horizontal crease at upper right w/scattered moisture staining. Upper right has 2" tear w/archival tape repair on reverse. Margins also have numerous small handling creases w/a few tiny tears along top margin. Fine overall. A popular Haring poster which is featured in "Keith Haring Short Messages Posters" book by Prestel. Striking Anti-Apartheid image.
