Item Description
17.25x22-1/8" promotional poster for "Cordier & Ekstrom, Inc." gallery showing in New York City that took place Jan. 9 to Feb. 4, 1967 and featured the art of Richard Linder (1901-1978), a German-American painter who moved to the US in 1941 and worked as an illustrator of books and magazines. In 1965, he became Guest Professor at the Hochschule für bildende Künste in Hamburg, Germany. His paintings at this time used the sexual symbolism of advertising and investigated definitions of gender roles in the media. Also of note, Linder appears on the cover to The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band" album (in the second row). Art featured on this poster is titled "Ice" and was created in 1966. Lower right has tiny printing information, noting it was printed in Italy. Poster has been folded into quarters but is o/w Exc.
