Item Description
8.5" tall solid chalkware statue depicting Popeye's mysterious magical pet, that first appeared in the March 16, 1936 "Thimble Theatre" comic strip. c. 1930s. Incised "Jeep" name on stomach, statue is complete w/original painted rope tail. Some pinpoint spots of wear but extremely bright and clean overall. Exc. Only the second we've offered in our 49 years. Eric Renner Collection and the example shown on page 123 of his book "American Disguise."
