Item Description
1-1/16" circular badge in black enamel and 10K gold holds eight 10K linked bars for total height of 4-7/8". The first and last bars have engraved name of the rider "R.J. McAuley." Between this first and last bar are eight additional bars hand engraved. First bar reads "June 25/98" and last bar reads "Apr. 30/99." Seven of the bars are dated for 1898 with one for 1899. A 100 mile ride in those days and on that equipment over the typically unpaved roads of the era was quite an accomplishment. Mint and unique.
