Item Description
11.75x13.25x1.75" deep cardboard box w/illustrated lid contains complete Classy Products Corp. set issued in the 1940s. Box lid features large illustration of Dick Tracy w/smaller portraits of 21 different characters (from major to minor) from the famous crime strip around lid's four side panels. Lid shows moderate wear w/scattered color rubs and surface paper insect damage, including 1.75x3" area of missing surface paper on main panel Tracy image's hat. Box bottom missing 2" piece of side panel. Good/VG. Set includes boxed Stevens "Peace Maker" repeater cap gun from 1940s. 8.5" long nickel-plated cast iron gun features raised "Peace Maker" name on left side of frame above ivory plastic grips w/raised horsehead and cowboy w/crossed pistols. Spring-loaded cap chamber release. Grips have some aging but gun is unfired and VF/Exc. Gun box shows obvious wear w/splits/tears/punctures and is just Good. Other items in set include 11.25" tall leather holster w/"Dick Tracy" name and image, metal handcuffs, 2.5" tall metal "Captain" shield badge (still taped to insert as issued) and leather belt w/four painted wooden bullets in leather loops. Exc. This was also issued as a boxed holster only. Rare and first we've offered in our 49 years.
