Item Description
28.5x39.75" poster features image of shipbuilder at dock wearing welding goggles and showing off his "Ships For Victory" button on his overalls. Text reads "'I'm Building The Ships We Need To Win!'" w/"U.S. Maritime Commission" name at bottom. 1942. Poster has been rolled and shows scattered handling wear w/moderate wear to left/right margins, including some small tears and moisture stains. Fine overall and would make for nice framed display. Poster comes w/two-page stapled letter on "United States Maritime Commission - Washington" letterhead that is addressed to "All Shipbuilders And Manufacturers Of Ships' Parts In The United States." Letter goes on to mention sample posters, noted as being in three different sizes. Second sheet includes ordering information. Letter has been rolled and has oxidation to staple, w/even aging and scattered handling wear. Fine. Comes w/miniature 7-1/8x10" sample poster bearing same image/design as larger poster described above. Sample poster has been rolled and is NM. Scarce. Campbell Family Collection.
