Item Description
Large 18" tall hollow plaster statue/bank similar in size/design as Batman statue/bank, item #2213. Bank is nicely painted close to how Robin appears in the comics w/the red of his tunic outlined w/lighter color interior as painted. Incised "Mexico" on underside of base. c. 1966. Coin slot on back. A few scattered paint flakes (mainly concentrated on lighter chest area). Scattered aging to base. Fine/VF. Great likeness. A similar figure is shown on page 75 of "Batman Collected" by Chip Kidd. We've only offered one other example of the statue/bank and that version featured dark red shirt w/black "R" symbol whereas this example has yellow "R" symbol. Rare. Eric Renner Collection and the example shown on page 197 of his book "American Disguise."
