Item Description
From 1966. 10x10x10.25" tall base had attached wooden arm and rod that suspended plastic Batman figure attached to plastic parachute over electric motor-driven fan that causes chute to deploy and demonstrates how toy works to prospective buyers. Base is complete and back panel has two paper labels, one w/instructions for set-up, the other showing how to control flow of air w/provided sliding vents on bottom. Second label has heavy aging from glue used to apply label. Three sides of base have 5.25x9.5" cardboard panels reading "Official Batman" w/comic book logo/title. One of these show moderate wear w/color rubs and scratches and is Fine while other two just have oxidation at corner staples. Wire screen covering over fan has some aging. Generic wooden arm and rod as well as Batman and parachute are missing, but the figure itself is common and could easily be replaced. Overall, display works and is Fine. Rare, the only other example (complete) we have offered in our 49 years sold for $1,554. From the collection of Chip Kidd, renowned author, graphic designer and pop culture enthusiast extraordinaire.
