Item Description
10.25x13.5" Vol. 2 #2 Feb. 1969 issue of "Eye" magazine w/80 pages. Front cover has attached
(as issued) 5x6.75" mini comic book titled "The Amazing Spider-Man - The Birth Of A Superhero!" in place at lower left. Story by Stan Lee w/art by John Romita originally appeared in "Amazing Spider-Man" #42 (1966). Mini-comic has specialty back cover art by Romita showing Spider-Man throwing a web w/text "Keep Thy Webs Untangled! Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man!" This is totally unique to this issue as the regular, full size comic book had a typical ad on back cover. Comic cover is loose at top staple but firmly held on by bottom staple. Comic itself is firmly attached to the magazine cover. Overall still Fine. Rarely found still attached. Magazine itself includes article on the underground press w/Robert Crumb art, "The New Superhero (Is A Pretty Kinky Guy)" article w/two-page color spread of Marvel superheroes, photos of Steve McQueen riding motorcycle w/article on McQueen by Harlan Ellison. Covers have a few lt. handling creases and pinch creases to spine but overall Fine/VF overall. Wonderful marketing concept.
