Item Description
14.25x24.25" cardboard wall display w/original string hanger at top contains complete amount of 12 hard plastic handheld walkie-talkie/radio/guns on individual blister cards (blisters are stapled to cards as issued). Made in Japan for the Japanese market only. c. 1966. Display card features batsymbol w/"Batman" name in Japanese characters, image of the toy itself and bizarre toothy depiction of Batman in purple/green color scheme. Display also features squares underneath carded toys w/alternating facial images of Batman and The Joker. Display has some handling wear w/corner creasing and slight curl to top of display. Fine/VF. Toys are designed to look like a walkie-talkie/radio device but are actually a gun that fires plastic discs. Raised "007 Transeaver" text on front of device and each has foil batsymbol sticker and either blue or white trigger. Six have gold foil "speaker" while six have red foil "speaker" inserts. All are NM as packaged. Cards also have batsymbol w/"Batman" name in Japanese characters and show handling wear/aging w/scattered oxidation to staples and moderate dust soiling underneath blisters. Some cards have slight warp. Fine overall. Loose units are rare and are even rare as a carded example, and this is the first example we've seen of a full display. Impressive Japanese Batman display piece.
