Item Description
4.25x12.75" cast aluminum w/ raised text/image. Graphic of a rifle that has a bloody bayonet with three drops of blood at bottom right. An intimidating suggestion clearly aimed at those advancing the "I Like Ike" campaign slogan so prevalent during the 1952 and 1956 campaigns. Reverse has imprint reading "Cheaha-Pat Wks. Munford Ala." Munford is a small town with a population of less than 2,000 outside of Birmingham at the foot of the Cheaha mountain. Ike was not a popular figure in Alabama losing to Stevenson in 1952 by nearly 30 points and again in 1956 by almost 20. Several small areas of minor paint loss in the black background most notable is a less than 1/4x1/2" to left of the "W' in "Who." VF.
