Item Description
14.75x22x22.25" tall paper on painted wood rocking chair made in England, early 1930s. Sides feature wonderful Mickey Mouse graphics, showing full body stance. Mickey holds sheet of paper w/"Doh Me Soh" text, indicating he's singing. Interesting depiction shows Mickey w/very large feet w/"Reproduced With The Consent Of Walter E. Disney & Ideal Films Ltd." text between his feet. Chair features interesting design and can be disassembled as produced. Three-piece seat/back/underside brace are hinged to fold into flat section. This piece has metal tabs that fit into slots attached to the two sides. It appears that at some point two thin dowel rods were also attached to front/back of rockers. Unsure if these were original but the fact that they are missing does not affect rocker's sturdiness. One side piece is slightly warped but all painted areas of wood have original paint w/a few scattered scratches. Fine/VF. Paper on wood shows moderate wear w/some scattered edge flakes. Left side has 1.5x2.75" area of paper missing off foot. VG/Fine overall. First we've seen of this striking early English child's rocking chair in our 49 years.
