Item Description
1.5x3.5" ticket for "Radio Premier" of "Tarzan" which was for midnight, Sept. 10, 1932 performance at the Fox Pantages theater in Hollywood, CA. Sponsored by the Signal Gas & Oil Company, the show debuted on Sept. 12. This ticket was for an early, premier performance for California to hype the show's radio debut two days later. The "Tarzan" radio program starred James Pierce, the fourth actor to portray Tarzan and his eventual wife, Joan Burroughs, daughter of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs, who was also in attendance. Johnny Weissmuller, the Silver Screen's Tarzan, was also in attendance and gave his Tarzan yell. Ticket is NM. Rare.
