5x7" glossy photo featuring six members of Alice Paul's NWP each holding a banner at a gated entrance to the White House on Pennsylvania Ave. Lower right has "Harris & Ewing Washington D.C." Reverse has applied paper label w/caption, various stamps including "Jan 15 1917" and a pencil notation reading "1917 Suffragettes Picket White House." Reverse edges have scattered light brown dots of toning that do not show on front. VF displaying NM. A rare image documenting one of the most critical protests of the suffrage movement.
